Model with Flaps

Postby Ning.Wang » Tue Aug 06, 2019 1:29 am

Hi,everyone:
I've been working on smart blades for flaps lately, and I don't understand many of them. I want to ask if anyone has a model of Fast with flaps. Whatever version it is, it's better if it's fastV.8. Thank you very much!

Dear Ning Wang,

The ability to actively control trailing-edge flaps has never been a fully supported feature of FAST / OpenFAST. There has been discussion on this forum regarding using existing features of FAST plus customized enhancements to model actively controlled trailing-edge flaps, e.g. see: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1014&p=7268. Moreover, a recent pull request into OpenFAST (not yet merged into OpenFAST dev) should allow this capability to be fully supported in a future version, see: https://github.com/OpenFAST/openfast/pull/213.

Dear Jason:
Thank you for your quick answer. I'll take a good look at what you recommend.
