Reynolds Number value for wind turbine blade

Dear Marshell,
While talking about laminar, turbulent, transition stages on the wind turbine blade, Reynolds number values are varied without reasoningreason. My books refer to Reynolds number for laminar is as about 5*10^5. Another site tells <10,0000. Kindly tell me the Reynolds number values for for laminar and transition ,turbulence.

Dear Suni,

For given atmospheric conditions, Reynolds number is a function of the relative wind speed and a characteristic length. The length we use is the chord of the airfoil at the blade span location being analyzed. As you can imagine, the Reynolds number for a small turbine will be much smaller than for a large turbine.
