Now, I am studying about the BModes to generate the mode shapes for FAST. But my first task of the project is to find the modal mass of the fixed bottom wind turbine. I am not quite sure about how to output the modal mass from BModes. 1) Is it possible to do it? 2) If not, what is your suggestion to do it?. I have tried to calculate it from the structural dynamics theory that I already have the mass matrix and the mode shape output from BModes, but the difficulty is to get mass matrix, as there are a lot of DOFs. Now, I am still working on formulating the mass matrix.

Dear Wang Lilin,

BModes does not actually output the modal mass matrix. My guess is you'd have to customize the BModes source code for your own purposes.
