Re: FASTv8 Error Matlab: Error from Test20

David, When you get an error about not finding 'link', that usually means either you haven't installed Microsoft Visual Studio properly (before installing Intel Visual Fortran) or you are trying to use Intel Visual Fortran from a command line without calling the proper batch files to set the paths t...

Re: FASTv8 Error Matlab: Error from Test20

The "Compiling FAST for Simulink" section of the FAST ReadMe document describes what you need to do.

Re: FASTv8 Error Matlab: Error from Test20

Hi, David. I recently discovered an uninitialized variable in the Morison module. I do not know if that will solve the problem you are having, but it is very possible this is the problem. In Morison.f90, line 4227 (FAST 8.15), add this line: m%D_F_AM = 0.0_ReKi In context, it should look like this: ...

Re: "DISCON.dll could not be loaded"

You can get this error if you have a 32-bit DISCON.DLL and are using a 64-bit version of FAST or vice versa (64-bit DISCON.DLL with 32-bit FAST). If you have an NREL-supplied version of FAST 7, it should be a 32-bit application. You can also get this error if DISCON.DLL isn't in the current working ...

Re: CMake for MAP++, TurbSim & FAST

Sure, we can change that message. It was originally put there because the first person to test my Linux implementation complained that it didn't compile, and so I just removed my code with the preprocessor directives. The other possible definitions should be listed in the makefile distributed with F...

Re: CMake for MAP++, TurbSim & FAST

That error comes because you have not compiled with the "-DUSE_DLL_INTERFACE" preprocessor flag, but you are trying to call a BLADED dynamic library for control algorithms. When you compile FAST on Linux/Mac OS, you'll need to compile with -DUSE_DLL_INTERFACE and link with the dl (dynamic ...

Re: Confusion about TurbSim

If you have not output the full AnalysisTime, the mean you calculate will most likely be different than what you requested. See the TurbSim User's Guide for more information about the differences between UsableTime and AnalysisTime.

Re: Beginner to Simulink and FAST V7

The FAST v7 S-Function does change the initialized variable to 0 after initialization. It also checks that it is 1 before it will run. The idea is to make sure you have called Read_FAST_Input.m in Matlab each time you start a model, which makes sure the variables in the Matlab workspace are consiste...

Re: Beginner to Simulink and FAST V7

David, You are using a model that was not developed at NREL, and our User's Guides will not cover details that are specific to other people's models. I have never seen the TMD model or the FAST-SC documentation, so I can only guess. I have seen some models where the Simsetup.m file calls other Matla...

Re: Beginner to Simulink and FAST V7

Hi, Audrey. If the script can't find the link command, that means the path/include/lib variables in your options .bat file are not set properly. I have found the easiest way to fix this is to copy the variables that the Intel Command Prompt window sets for you. Open the Intel command prompt (see FAS...

Re: Old v7 simulink model to new v8 difficulties

"standalone executable" refers to the .exe file produced when you compile the full FAST code (e.g., FAST_Win32.exe or FAST_x64.exe, which were compiled with the FAST_Prog.f90 driver program in Visual Studio). For comparison, when your run Simulink, it uses a different driver, which calls t...

Re: Beginner to Simulink and FAST V7

Hi, David. I do not have the files from Dr. Namik. The first error indicates that one or more arguments to dpoly are empty. It looks like the w_cut variable is undefined. The other error refers something called Model_Inputs that is undefined. So, I would guess that you are missing a MATLAB script th...

Re: Beginner to Simulink and FAST V7

Hi, Audrey.

Depending on the version of Matlab you are using, you may need to recompile the FAST_SFunc mex function. I think the mex file was created with Matlab R2012a so it may not be compatible with your version of Matlab.

Re: Error by Test18 FASTv8: Build procedure for model: 'Ope

As I mentioned in one of your other posts about this error, the normal procedure for running the FAST S-Function in Simulink does not involve gmake. Do you need to use external mode in Simulink? For example, if you have extracted the FAST v8 archive in C:\FASTv8\, open Matlab and type this in the co...
