Re: How to Compile FAST_v7.02.00d-bjj to get a FAST.exe file?

The reason the Runtime Library was blank is that you have selected "All Configurations" and the individual configurations (Release, Debug) were set to different values. When all configurations are the same value, you will see a value there. If you selected "Release" or "Debu...

Re: How to Compile FAST_v7.02.00d-bjj to get a FAST.exe file?

Please post the first errors you received when compiling. It's very difficult to tell what's wrong without specific error messages. The size of the binary files (exe or dll) that are generated when compiling aren't typically useful information, unless they're 0 KB. Different versions of the compiler...

Re: Instructions for Compiling FAST

If you want to use FAST v8 with Simulink, you don't actually use the FAST executable you just compiled. Instead, you need to compile the FAST source code as a dynamic library (FAST_Library.dll), which the Simulink mex file loads and uses. There are instructions for compiling the DLL in the FAST v8 R...

Re: Availability of file .dll from FAST v7 to v8

One other thing you should check: make sure that the "Bladed Interface" inputs in the ServoDyn input file are set to whatever was hard-coded in the FAST v7 version you are using. I know some people also hard-coded other variables to pass to the interface, so maybe your FAST v7 version is a...

Re: Instructions for Compiling FAST

Hi, Srivnivasa. It looks like you are not linking with the MAP++ library. If you use Visual Studio, you need to have the appropriate MAP*.lib file specified under Project -> Properties -> Linker -> Input -> Additional Dependencies. In the VS project distributed with FAST, it is "..\..\Source\de...

Re: Instructions for Compiling FAST

Hi, Srinivasa. I have taken a look at your build log and I am a little confused. The first three errors I see are these: F:\FAST8.10micro\Source\FAST_Subs.f90(3979): error #6818: The statement following a CONTAINS is not a function-stmt or a subroutine-stmt. TYPE(FAST_MiscVarType), INTENT(IN ) :: m_...

Re: Availability of file .dll from FAST v7 to v8

The DLL shouldn't have to be changed. Do you have PCMode=5 in your ServoDyn input file? And is TPCOn < TMax?

Re: FASTv8 Error Matlab: Error from Test20

David, When you get an error about not finding 'link', that usually means either you haven't installed Microsoft Visual Studio properly (before installing Intel Visual Fortran) or you are trying to use Intel Visual Fortran from a command line without calling the proper batch files to set the paths t...

The "Compiling FAST for Simulink" section of the FAST ReadMe document describes what you need to do.

Re: FASTv8 Error Matlab: Error from Test20

Hi, David. I recently discovered an uninitialized variable in the Morison module. I do not know if that will solve the problem you are having, but it is very possible this is the problem. In Morison.f90, line 4227 (FAST 8.15), add this line: m%D_F_AM = 0.0_ReKi In context, it should look like this: ...

Re: "DISCON.dll could not be loaded"

You can get this error if you have a 32-bit DISCON.DLL and are using a 64-bit version of FAST or vice versa (64-bit DISCON.DLL with 32-bit FAST). If you have an NREL-supplied version of FAST 7, it should be a 32-bit application. You can also get this error if DISCON.DLL isn't in the current working ...

Re: CMake for MAP++, TurbSim & FAST

Sure, we can change that message. It was originally put there because the first person to test my Linux implementation complained that it didn't compile, and so I just removed my code with the preprocessor directives. The other possible definitions should be listed in the makefile distributed with F...

Re: CMake for MAP++, TurbSim & FAST

That error comes because you have not compiled with the "-DUSE_DLL_INTERFACE" preprocessor flag, but you are trying to call a BLADED dynamic library for control algorithms. When you compile FAST on Linux/Mac OS, you'll need to compile with -DUSE_DLL_INTERFACE and link with the dl (dynamic ...

Re: Confusion about TurbSim

If you have not output the full AnalysisTime, the mean you calculate will most likely be different than what you requested. See the TurbSim User's Guide for more information about the differences between UsableTime and AnalysisTime.
