Re: Hardware in the loop

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Thanks again for your response. Yes, it is not directly related to the control section in FAST. Maybe, I should ask this any other forum sections. What about " Computer-Aided Engineering Software Tools" section? Do you know is there anybody to reply in it? Thanks Best reg...

Re: Hardware in the loop

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Thank you very much for your respond and very helpful links. I read them and found the source of the problem. To illustrate, to make a real-time there is a header file (simstruc.h) in Matlab that should be used for C S-function level 2. This header file itself, includes other heade...

Re: FAST_SFunc

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Thanks for your response. Yes, I found this source code but it seems it is not a true/actual source code. If I don't set the path to the address you mentioned, then I cannot open the FAST_SFunc.c in Simulink; on the other hand, when I set path to this address, I can open it but it ...

FAST_SFunc

Dear all,

Does anybody has the source code of "FAST_SFunc" block in Simulink for FAST v8 ? My problem is that when I want to open it, Matlab says that the S-Function source file cannot be found even though the simulation runs well.

Thank you

Best,
Sina

Re: Individual Pitch Control

Hi Nikhar, Thanks for your response and sending me the link. I have another question. I want to run a real-time simulation for FAST v8. I can easily run the open loop (FAST v8) in Matlab/Simulink but when I run it in the real-time environment in Matlab it gives me these two errors including "LI...

Re: Individual Pitch Control

Hi Sam,

I am doing research on the application of control theory for individual pitch control (IPC) using FAST v8. Is the ROSCO linked with Matlab/Simulink to work with?

Best,
Sina

Hardware in the loop

Hi all, I can easily run the open loop (FAST v8) in Matlab/Simulink but when I run it in the real-time environment in Matlab it gives me these two errors including "LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'FAST_SFunc.obj'", and "NMAKE : fatal error U1077". Has anyone encoun...

Re: Model verification

Dear Dr. Jonkman, I have another question. Recently, I have read a paper implementing a controller (pitch control) on a 5MW offshore WT and shows the following results: Simulation results.PNG Now, I am confused. While I cannot get a settled response with NREL's PI control due to hydrodynamics, and m...

Re: Model verification

Dear Dr. Jonkman,

Thank you so much for sending me the document for the offshore WT. I reduced the gains, then oscillations seem reduced a little like this:

Re: Model verification

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Thanks for your reply. Actually, it is a simple PI control with a bias term that is exactly equal to the pitch angle at the operating point. However, let's get back to your PI control. Why is it settled very well for test 18 but not for test 24? Generator Speed_PI.PNG The PI contro...

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Thanks for replying to all of my question. Please see the following results for the rotor speed and control signal: RotorSpeed.JPG Pitch.JPG Pitch_Beginning.JPG The initial conditions are the operating condition (wind speed=22m/s, pitch=19.94 deg, rotor speed=1.267rad/s, Test 24). ...

Re: Model verification

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Thank for your reply. Actually, I have several questions. 1- Regarding the oscillations, you're right. You cannot tell anything about the those oscillations without having detailed information. Let me ask my question in other word. Suppose I apply the control input (pitch) in an op...

Dear Dr. Jonkman, When I apply a zero input (pitch angel is zero) fpr test 24, I will get this error message: An error occurred while running the simulation and the simulation was terminated Caused by: Error reported by S-function 'FAST_SFunc' in 'PI2_FAST/FAST Nonlinear Wind Turbine/S-Function': FA...
