MATLAB2HD script

Dear all, I am using the MATLAB script to generate the new HydroDyn input files with the modified certain parameters. but I got problem, and here to seek for help, my code is as followings: % HydroDyn input file Hrefer='C:\Users\Desktop\FAST_MATLAB\OC4TC\5MW_Baseline\NRELOffshrBsline5MW_OC4DeepCwind...

Re: Replacement for RunNTM?

Hi Bonnie, Thanks very much for your help! Now I am working on the MATLAB script to do the massive FAST simulations. Following your instruction, I have another question due to my inexperience for MATLAB. I plan to generate massive .inp file with the different file name though Matlab2FAST function an...

Re: Replacement for RunNTM?

Dear Jason, Following your informative reply, I think using MATLAB is a promising direction for my problem. May I ask you some questions in more detail: 1) I plan to park the OC4 submesible, as I need to simulate the cases that wind speed at hub height exceeds V-cutout, say 25 m/s. So initial rotor ...

Re: Replacement for RunNTM?

Hi everyone, I am using the FAST v8 right now to do the simulations for offshore floating wind turbine (such as OC4 submersible ). My problem is I need to do massive simulations, sort of like the Monte Carlo simulations using FAST to get the structural response, for instance, to change the wind spee...

Re: RunIEC accessibility

Dear Dr. Jason,

Could you please send me a copy of old archives of RunIEc and RunNTM by email as well. Thanks you ahead of time.

Regards,

Chrlie

Re: AeroDyn v15 convergence issues

Dear Dr. Jonkman,

Appreciate your assistance. I really do not know so important the initial condition setting would be for FAST! I did the sensitivity analysis for WP 1.5 WM following your given post, now my model can run successfully.

Many thanks!

Re: AeroDyn v15 convergence issues

Dear Dr. Jonkman, I am running test13 with the version v8.16 and AeroDyn v15.03. and I am using Turbsim to generate wind velocity time histories for mean wind speed at the range of 4, 6,8 ...24m/s and wanna get structural response under these wind speeds. For simplicity, I did no any other changes. ...

Re: fore-aft and side-to-side accelerations at mid-tower

Dear Dr. Jonkman,

Thanks so much. I always think it may be the problem with the input format in the ElastoDyn file. It seems like a stupid problem. Anyway, always appreciate your help!

Best regards,
Charlie

Re: fore-aft and side-to-side accelerations at mid-tower

Dear Dr. Jonkman, I encounter a strange problem. I am running Test13 and want to output the local force and moments at 50% tower height and blade span. and the output file has showed that these local output are invalid showed below: I guess there is something wrong with the NTwGages and NBlGages in ...

Re: AeroDyn error

Dear Dr. Jonkman, I am running the Test13 for WP 1.5MW wind turbine. I want to output the local response of blade at 50% span, and encounter a problem that I cannot determine the location of corresponding BldGagNd in ElastoDyn input file? I read the FAST user's guideline 2005, it said "The radi...

Re: The frequency component of flapwise

Dear Dr. Jonkman, really thanks a lot for your help, expect to say the new functionality in OpenFAST version. Now for the tower, I also do the free-decay analysis and get the FA and SS first frequency are both 0.4255 roughly. How do you think? Also can you please give me the exact value of Full-syst...

Re: The frequency component of flapwise

Dear Dr. Jonkman, I am working on the Test25 of the semi-submersible wind turbine. My aim is to perform the structural response analysis of this wind turbine model. Before that, I need to check the natural frequencies of the whole system. I do the linearisation analysis in standstill scenario in v8....

Re: FAST8 Linearization

Dear Dr. Jonkman, Sorry for my unclear wording. Here, I already have completed the modelling in FAST as well as got the blade and tower natural frequencies though the linearization analysis discussed previously. I wanna plot the full system mode shapes, as well as the isolated blade or tower mode sh...
