Re: Different StrcTwst and AeroTwst

Dear Jason, Thanks a lot for your explanation. I also took a look at the “unofficial” theory manual for FAST you send me and I got my thinking clear. So all loads are given in the structural coordinate system and NOT in the aerodynamic/ chord coordinate system. I was able to transform all loads from...

Re: Different StrcTwst and AeroTwst

Dear Jason, reading through the FAST User’s Guide I gained an understanding of the structural twist, as the angle for which the flap wise and edge wise stiffness reach their maximum and the couple term for the edge and flap wise stiffness turns to zero. The structural twist indicates the orientation...

Different StrcTwst and AeroTwst

Dear FAST-Community, does anyone has experience how different StrcTwst and AeroTwst angle effect the results for flapwise bending moment along the blade ? I do have a bld-file with an StrcTwst angle for the principal elastic axes from 45 to 0 degrees and my AeroTwst angle only differs between 15 to ...

Re: Blade loads at all sections

Dear Felix,

I already increased the number of outputs for SpnMLxb and SpnMLyb up to 99. Unfortunately the changes in the FAST code led to an incompatibly with FAST2ADAMS.
I could send you the files via email.

Best regards,
Tim

Linking windfiles in AeroDyn

Dear Bonnie, dear Jason, I would like to link the XXX.ipt file to an arbitrary folder containing a XXX.wnd file. Unfortunately , as far as I know, it is only possible to link subfolders with XXX.wnd files starting from the folder containing the XXX.ipt file. Is it somehow possible to get it working ...

Increasing Number of NBIGages

Dear FAST-Development Community, I would like to increase the number of NBIGages for every blade and there outputparameters SpnXXTAxb1/2/3 SpnXXTAyb1/2/3 SpnXXTAzb1/2/3 SpnXXTDxb1/2/3 SpnXXTDyb1/2/3 SpnXXTDzb1/2/3 SpnXXRDxb1/2/3 SpnXXRDyb1/2/3 SpnXXRDzb1/2/3 SpnXXFLxb1/2/3 SpnXXFLyb1/2/3 SpnXXMLxb1/...

Re: Gain Scheduling

Dear Jason,

I wonder if the frozen wake assumption has found its way into the to the latest FAST-Version v7.01.00a-bjj?

Best regards

Aerofoil format

Hello everyone, the latest FAST update is really great. Having the ability to calculate forces and translations, etc. at local blade and tower stations is a big improvment. With all those changes I was hoping to run a FAST simulation with the aerofoil format used by the latest WT_Perf. Unfortunately...
