Re: Linking windfiles in AeroDyn

Thanks Marshall, thanks Bonnie, I,ve get to run FAST following your tips but I'd like to say how I was working to help other users. I use the interface FAST-Simulink (I don't call FAST from the command line) and I'm running all design load cases. Therefore, I have a lot of .fst input files in differ...

Re: Linking windfiles in AeroDyn

Good morning, I downloaded FAST v7.02.00 d-bjj and NWTC Library v1.07.00b-mlb last week because I need forces in various nodes (blade and tower). I'd like to work with absolute paths (to the current work directory) in all my input files (AeroDyn and FAST). I did: 1. I found the subroutine PathIsRela...

Frequency 3P

Hi, I,m analyzing results of field trials and I see that the pitch maneuvers are exciting the 3P frequency but I don't see this behavior by FAST. Why I can't see it by my FAST-Simulink simulations? I'm very concerned because this phenomenon is very important and I would like to get a reliable simula...

Re: FAST_SFunc

Hi again, I'm doing some tests to make sure which torque is being demanded by Wind Turbine block: - Setting: - VSContrl=3 - GenModel=1 - GBoxEff=80% - GenEff=90% - GBRatio=16.9 - DrTrDOF=False I use Constant blocks to supply electrical generator torque and electrical power demands to the FAST wind t...

Re: Compile FAST source file Fortran

Thanks Subin,

I tried your suggestion the first time but it doesn't work. The parameters BlPitch, BlPitchF, TPitManS and TPitManE in the fast input file work together. If you enable these parameters the commands from Simulink are canceled.

Best Regards,

Ana

Re: Compile FAST source file Fortran

OK, I'll try to explain it by an example: 1. I want to start the simulation with pitch=17 deg 2. After 10 seconds, the pitch must be given by the pitch controller from Simulink 3. My problem: if I use the commands which override pitch maneuvers (in .fst file), FAST applies a linear ramp and holds of...

Compile FAST source file Fortran

Hi everyone, I'm working with FAST-Simulink (PCMode=2; Pitch control mode user-defined from Simulink). I need start the simulations with a pitch angle which I choose but after the pitch control from Simulink must control the pitch maneuvers. Thus I have to change the FAST's source file and compile i...

FAST_SFunc

Good morning, I'm working with a FAST-Simulink model. The first input of the Wind Turbine block demands electrical generator torque and electrical power (according to FAST's User Guide). I think that the electrical power is in the generator output, but I have doubts: could it be in the grid? Thank you

Re: FAST in a 64-bit computer

Thanks Tasos, I'll try it.

I have found in this forum a topic related to the FAST_SFunc.mexw32 working in a 64 bit computer and a 64 bit OS.
Maybe the link can help you. I haven't had time for a paused reading yet.

Re: FAST in a 64-bit computer

Hi Jason, Tasos Thanks for answering so quicly. I tried to add the folder where the file FAST_SFunc.mexw32 is stored to the MATLAB path two months ago. I got the following error message: "Matlab cannot save changes to the path. The path file, pathdef.m, might be read-only or might be in a direc...

Re: FAST in a 64-bit computer

Good afternoon, I,m working with FAST and the controllers are introduced by Simulink. When I run my .mdl model a error occurs: S-Function 'FAST_SFunc' does not exist The S-Function 'FAST_SFunc' comes from the OpenLoop.mdl model which you get it by downloading the FAST code in NREL Web. Does anybody ...

Re: Simulink Interface

Thank you, I will do the questions again: 1. If I don't use FAST input files from CertTest folder, is then necessary the model Test01_SIG.mdl in order to the interface works correctly ? 2. I think that I always have to run the example Simulink model OpenLoop.mdl at the beginnig of the simulation, is...

Simulink Interface

Good morning, I,m working on FAST-Simulink the first time. I would like know if I have to click on Play button to run the example Simulink model OpenLoop.mdl every time that I open a MATLAB command window (as simsetup.m and as the name of FAST input file (.fst)) or only have to do it once. Another q...

Thanks for your answers,
I've got a 64-bit computer running a 64-bit OS, but works with Windows 7; is there any problem?
