Dear All,
Please let me know if anyone have the yaw static offset measurement procedure. Or you can send me reference regarding the yaw static offset measurement procedure.
Best regards,
Shankar Sarpate

Re: Installation of OpenFAST
Dear Jason, Thank you very much for the guidance! Now I am working on loads calculations project with IEC 61400-1 Ed3. In the sample projects, we have limited number of wind conditions simulated. Is it possible to through light on the following points: 1. How we can consider all load cases / simulat...

Installation of OpenFAST
Dear All,
I was trying to install OpenFAST as per the attached procedure. There is an error while setup downloading (error message attached).
Please suggest me any other site for downloading the software other than http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu
Thank a lot!

Re: Flex5 Manual
Dear Jason, Thanks for immediate reply. I know this forum is for FAST and other codes developed by NREL. As you mentioned FAST is similar to Flex5 and I thought some of the people may also be working with Flex5 parallel to FAST. That's why I was exploring the possibility of availability of Flex5 man...

Flex5 Manual
Dear All,
I am started working on Flex5 also. Do anyone has 'operating manual of Flex5'? Or Similar type of document which describes the working of the Flex5. Is it possible for you to share the same?

Dear Steven,
Thanks for the detail information.
Do you have any document related to this procedure? If yes, Is it possible for you to share the same?

Re: Wind speed for fatigue preliminary dimensioning
Hi Cladio, Pat, 'Wind speed for fatigue preliminary dimensioning' is a very interesting topic and initial ideas expressed by both of you are admirable. The work involved in this is a putting togather lot of load cases and developing a algorithm which would convert the mean wind speed individual scat...

Re: Betz law and RotCp
Hi Soeren, I just started working with FAST recently and had a similar issue. I had asked about this and see below for the response I got from Jason Jonkman at NREL. RotCp is only an estimate of the rotor power coefficient. It is computed within FAST as follows: RotCp = RotSpeed*RotTorq/(1/2*AirDen...

Thanks a lot, Scott.
This document is very much useful for me. Similarly there may a document which describes the method for converting aerodynamic loads to the static test loads.
Can anybody share this document?

Re: University research in structural testing
Hello Scott, I would like to wish a best of luck for entering in your new profession. I am also from Blade testing and blade load analysis background. We have full scale blade testing capacity upto 65m blade. Do you have any procedure on conversion of aerodynamic loads to testing loads? If yes, can ...

Aerodynamic loads on blade & conversion into test loads.
Dear Everyone, This topic is for discussion of various issues and considerations while predicting the aerodynamic loads and challenges for converting these loads into structural test loads [during static and fatigue testing of the blade]. During static test: The blade bending moment is simulated by ...

FAST: Bending moments against Blade length
Hello Everybody, Recently I have downloaded FAST and other design codes and started using the same. I am interested to know where [which output file] I can get the bending moment of the blade against lenth of the blade. From this we can calculate the centrated test loads may be at 3 or 4 locations [...

Structural design of the wind turbine blade
Hello Everybody,
I am recently joined this forum.
I am looking forward for the structural design procedure / data for the 61.5m wind turbine blade. Can anybody help me out by forward literature / documents on the structural design procedure?
Thanks & Regards,
