Conference Description:  The Second Symposium on OpenFOAM® in Wind Energy (SOWE), co-hosted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI) at the University of Colorado, Boulder, will bring together people who use OpenFOAM® for wind energy. The symposium aims to present the state of the art in wind energy computations using OpenFOAM®, allow people to share knowledge, and identify common problems that should be addressed.

Date:  19-21 May 2014

Location:  The conference will be in Boulder, Colorado, USA.  The first two days will be held at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and the last optional day will be held at the NREL's National Wind Technology Center.

  • Wind Turbine Aerodynamics and Wakes
  • Site Assessment and Wind Plant Aerodynamics
  • Other (including meshing, algorithms, post-processing, parallel performance, etc.)
