ViewWind

A utility for converting binary, full-field wind files to a readable form

Abstract

ViewWind allows the user to see the data contained in a binary, full-field wind file. ViewWind works with binary files produced by both Garrad Hassan's BLADED and NREL's TurbSim. These binary files are used by BLADED and all our AeroDyn-based codes. The format of the output is similar to the formatted files produced by TurbSim.

  This is the ViewWind change log. Look at this text file to see if we've made worthwhile changes since you received your previous version of ViewWind.

  This is a self-extracting archive of the ViewWind source code and an executable program. We created the executable program with Compaq Visual Fortran™ v6.5.A and it runs on all 32-bit Windows® operating systems. Modify the routines in SysCVF.for to port it to other compilers. You can test ViewWind by running SNwind or SNLWIND-3D to produce both binary and formatted files. Convert the binary file with ViewWind, then compare its results with the formatted files produced by TurbSim.
