Wind Turbine Installation
(Facility) Evaluation

Wind turbine installation or facility evaluation for certification provides information needed by certification agents to assess the integrity and safety of specific wind plants and facilities.

Installation Evaluation comprises site assessment verification and analysis, foundation design analysis, installation analysis, operation and maintenance (O&M) surveillance analysis, and wind farm or facility performance monitoring. All product documentation, including site assessment; installation, maintenance, and operation manuals; and performance monitoring data systems manuals, are subjected to close scrutiny and verification.

The use of stringent quality assurance and personnel safety systems systems at NREL, the NWTC's experience in documenting advanced designs and test procedures, and the NWTC's long involvement in the wind turbine standards development process provide a unique capability to assess quality systems, safety systems and manuals.
