Data file naming convention for 3'x5' tests. All data is in plain text.

  • Steady state data file names include the following:

    • Airfoil name (or abbreviation of it)
    • Clean or leading edge Grit roughness designation: c-Clean, g-leading edge Grit roughness applied
    • Reynolds number designation: ie 125=1.25 million

    • example: l417c100.txt

      LS(1)-0417mod airfoil, clean, Re=1.0 million

  • Unsteady data file names are defined as follows:

    • Clean or leading edge Grit roughness designation: c-Clean, g-leading edge Grit roughness applied
    • Cam used for data: 5 = 5.5 deg sine, 10 = 10 deg sine, 12 = 12 deg atan, 20 = 20 deg atan
    • Pitch oscillation frequency: l = 0.6 hz, m = 1.2 hz, h = 1.8 hz
    • Reynolds number designation: ie 125=1.25 million
    • Airfoil name (or abbreviation of it)

    • example: g10h125_s812.txt

Leading edge grit roughness, 10 deg sine, 1.8 hz, Re=1.25 million, S812 airfoil section
